Ramachandran: The neurons that shaped civilization

Here is a short (about 7min) by VS Ramachandran (tip 3quarksdaily). And more importantly, I guess, this is the reason why we enjoy movies and get emotional about a story on the screen (unless its Transformers 2).

This was very interesting, Salman. This whole phenomena makes sense now. Mr. Ramachandran is a very great speaker. I would definitely love to hear more by him. By hearing this, it's a relief that it's not only me to feel the reaction of Mirror Neuro acts. Good stuff!

He is such a great speaker. I heard his lecture a few years back from Beyond Belief 06 on a similar topic although with more of a religious angle. Another great one. Here is it:

P.S: His lecture starts around 38:44. The first dude comes up with some weird explanation of where consciousness exists in our brains, if i remember.
